If you’re the type of boatowner who likes to keep his vessel in tip-top shape, you might want to check out the Hardline resettable hour meter and tachometer.
This smart gauge will flash a “Change Engine & Gear Now” signal and a “Change Spark Plugs Now” signal at every 100 hours. At 500 hours, it will show Valve Service Now. All the functions count down showing the balance of time before each scheduled service.
The best feature is that the digital gauge is re-settable by holding down the button when the service function that is due is flashing. Owners can also re-set to their own intervals. The meter could be ideal for 4-Stroke Outboards to meet maintenance requirements.
It also includes an Individual Running Timer to track continuous running sessions. These can be erased with the reset button, but the meter also has a total hours accumulated function that cannot be erased. The screen can be read with the engine on or off.
For DIYers, the meter requires no power or ground wire and it comes with an integrated 10-year sealed battery inside. The instrument works on all two- and four-stroke engines with carburetion or fuel injection. Hardline designed it to operate with new-generation four-stroke coils or earlier ignitions.
The unit is waterproof, comes with double-sided tape, screws and fasteners and it measures 2 ¼” long by 1 ½” wide and 5/8” tall. The pickup wire is 14” long and can be trimmed.
