The 2018 Houston Summer Boat Show starts Wednesday at the NRG Center in Houston and runs through Monday.
Some exhibitors expected at this year’s event are Yamaha, The Yacht Sales Co, Ron Hoover Marine, Texas Marine, MarineMax, LMC Marine and more. Displays will include new boats and engines ranging from personal watercraft to luxury yachts. For more active types, there will Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP), kayaks and more. Plus, for boatowners looking for great deals on new accessories, the Houston Summer Boat Show is the place to find some great deals.
The show opens Wednesday at 1 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. Thursday’s hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and there’s a Buy One Get One special from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday’s hours are 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and things get started early Saturday at 10 a.m. and runs through 8 p.m. Finally, the hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Admission is $12 for attendees 13 and up and $5 for kids age 6 to 12. Kids under 5 get in free. There’s plenty of parking at NRG center and the rate is $12/day and it’s cash only. Tickets can be purchased online through Ticketmaster.
The show is an important event for the greater Houston marine industry and boating community after last year’s devastation from Hurricane Harvey and the flooding that followed. Rainfall totals measured more than 4’ in some areas and, for some, the recovery still continues close to a year later. That being said, there’s tremendous optimism in the area for a successful show and there are many people who lost boats in 2017 who are looking to get back out on the water in 2018.
The show is supported by Discover Boating, Texas Parks & Wildlife and TakeMeFishing.org.
