Regal’s newest model line starts with the 33 SAV

Regal Marine has expanded its model line with a new series of boats called Sports Activity Vessels and the first model is the Regal 33 SAV. These are outboard-powered boats intended to pack in a lot of activities into a day and still have place belowdecks for a couple to sleep out in a quiet cove.

Introduced earlier this year, the first model in the new series is the 33 SAV and it’s an outboard-powered boat that measures 34’2” long with a 10’4” beam and a dry weight estimated at 11,750 pounds. Draft with the outboards down is 35” and with the motors raised, the hull has a draft of 21”. Bridge clearance without the radar or satellite TV is 9’10”. Fuel capacity is 225 gallons and the boat carries 38 gallons of freshwater.

The 33 SAV comes standard with twin Yamaha F300XCA outboards and twin F350CXAs are available options. Owners can upgrade to joystick operation and add a bowthruster to facilitate docking.

For her dayboating intentions, the 33 SAV has swim platforms that extend aft past the motors on each side and space to pass between the outboards and the transom. Enter the cockpit to starboard and there’s seating just ahead or across the stern. To port there’s a side door that makes it easy to board from the docks or via a ladder after a swim. It would also come in handy for pulling in a big fish. Buyers can order a fish package with a livewell, macerated fishbox, transom rod holders and washdown. A full-service refreshment center has a solid countertop, refrigerator, sink trash can, storage drawers and can be upgraded with an optional electric grill and a TV. To keep passengers in the cockpit and cabins comfortable, air conditioning is available. Additional systems include automatic

At the helm, there are three individual bucket seats and the driver operates from the starboard side. Among available options that enhance the operating experience are a variety of Garmin navigation electronics, a Seakeeper 3 stabilization system and a power windlass.

Continuing the fun in the sun, a port-side passageway leads to the SAV 33’s bow. Having the passage to one side allows for more cabin space, especially headroom, belowdecks. An optional table can fill in the bow and create a playpen with a drop-in cushion.

Belowdecks, the cabin has adult-standing headroom and a convenience center with a microwave oven and storage. It’s not a full galley, but it’s equipped realistically for the way most people overnight.

Forward is a queen berth and aft is an area that closes off with a curtain and has a Calilifornia Queen mattress for sleeping. For more information, check out www.regalboats.com.
